Gtalk - block checker

There are tools to see who has blocked you at MSN or yahoo messenger. But there was no tool to check if someone has blocked you on gtalk . (Or if there is, I don’t know!) Accidentally, I discovered one. I was experimenting with something and found this….
No, I’m not going to share the way. If you need it desperately, email me;)
But then why do you have to care if someone has blocked us! Take a chill pill and stay away from people who try to avoid you!

Use Pidgin as your gtalk messenger - Once you are logged in, right click on the user name you are trying to findout if that user has blocked you or not. After right clicking on the user name, select get info - it will pop-up the GUI and if the user info is listed then your not blocked - If nothing is in the Pop-up GUI, bad luck you have been BLOCKED!!!

It is not true. U cannot use pidgin to check whether u r blocked or not. I tested and info, GUI of half of my contact list who r offline are able to be viewed. i have tested with 2 gmail account. Don’t work ! it will show info and GUI for some offline users and it will not for some.

The pidgin thing does work, from what I can tell. I’m not sure if it’s foolproof, but if a person has a Google Talk account (and has not signed in exclusively from orkut, for example), then if you click on the name when the person is offline, it should say ‘Person X is offline. Messages you send will be delivered when Person X comes online’ But if they’ve blocked you, OR if they do not have an actual GTalk account, it will only show ‘Person X is offline and can’t receive messages right now.’ Again, this is theoretical and I have no clue if it works, but the fact that I haven’t seen someone online for weeks now got me thinking…

Why u all believe that easily? He can also lie just trying to impress poeple. I don’t care whoeever blocks me. It makes me feel comfortable there r people out there who don’t like me. That’s fair. I don’t like some people. Some people don’t like me.

I think this should be true: one way to see that you are blocked must be that if they are listed in your google contacts list, and they previously had a photo, you wouldn’t be able to see the photo if you are later blocked by them, since google has blocked the information about that person to you.

On the buddies list(pidgin), for a person who hs blocked me, i c info given as ‘Last seen’. Will this make me c wen the person comes online next in spite of the person hving blocked me?

well, regarding blocking someone on a msnger. I personally want that this should be a default feature of msngers. If i blocked someone they should come to know at the same time by an email or any alert that ME Do Not want to talk to them anymore, so pls do not disturb me and dont try to get update abt me frm others
