PostHeaderIcon The Pakistani in Pakistan

Ever since I have returned back from Karachi, Pakistan, I have been wondering what is that didn’t make me feel at home.

I love (may be loved) Karachi, Pakistan  a lot. The reason might be the same that every person loves the country they belong to but I always reasoned it as the warm hearted people, the natural Karachiites.

When two years back I moved to Dubai, I found it too unnatural. Plastic people lost in the race for money. I didnt like it.

Visiting Karachi last time, unfortunately I had the same feeling. I realized inflation and media has affected the people  in the worst ways it could. The result is rich running after fame (through all kinds of media), social gatherings, status and the cries of “oh Pakistan, oh the people, oh justice….” if you know what I mean. When your kids go to a good school, your own a house on few acres furnished with the best furniture, you wear designer clothes and hold a crystal glass in your hand, it’s so easy to talk about what problems the country/ country men are facing… just like I wake up every morning, peek outside the balcony and think of the beautiful weather it seems outside only to go out and experience the heat in the dessert. Everything looks beautiful unless you have gone through it yourself.
The elites are just too busy in their happily ever after lives: The people who love discussing injustice, politics, news and the government. The middle person is busy making money earning bread and butter (and getting enough to buy themselves sugar??) The urge to have a house in the posh locality is what this class runs after.

The race of money has made it all so artificial, people dont seem the same. there’s no courtesy. You have to be dressed up in designer clothes, riding/ stepping out of an expensive car, wearing an expensive perfume on order to get some respect from the people you see around! (referring to my shopping experience in karachi) For me, I am always dressed up casually. My daughter makes a mess out of what I wear and since she’s my priority I dont really care what the world would think of me. I faced this attitude of people while shopping for clothes at some of the places I went to shop. I had no maid holding my baby, for nobody can take better care of her and hence I experienced this look from the begums shopping there that really annoyed me…

The Karachi trip was short and I seldom even thought about it so much until I was back to my home in Dubai, the place I thought was artificial. But the fact is, I realized, it’s in the people not in the place. The lust of money, the greed for more is what lies in a person despite of where you live.
Unfortunately the richer you get, the more you tend to discuss the issues faced by the country. And as the recent trend, tweeting on twitter, I have realized we have big mouths in our country drooling for fame, pretending to do something to get media attention, to be discussed among people as a true Pakistani doing deeds for the country.

Just like the rest of the world, my country people are losing their culture too… We are the new snobbish Pakistanis. As Akbar said ” ghum leader ko bohat hay magar aram key saath”…

PostHeaderIcon Will Pakistan be next Afghanistan?

The news of Allied forces advancing towards Pak-Afghan border, make me think if this is teh beginning of a new war. The sort that started up in Afgahnistan and left it in its present situtaion.

Are we the target with the same intentions?

The question of Pakistan’s existence has been under dicussion for quite some time now. Let’s see if this is how and where from they will enter to ruin our country or will it all be a myth.

Long Live Pakistan.

PostHeaderIcon China, earthquake and us

The earthquake that hit China was of magnitude 7.8 on rector scale shooking away buildings in the counties around the epicenter.

Once again, nature at it’s worst. Imagine the disaster, the homeless kids with no families any more, the woes of teh injured and the traumatic conditions of numerous. It reminds me of October the 8th, 2005, when Pakistan was in teh same condition.

I have no idea how families recover form the loss, may be never. Just like it happened in our very own country, Pakistan, thousands of kids died in the deadly earth quake leaving us wondering why the nature is so cruel with the innocents?? The one’s who do not have an idea of what cruelty could be! This question rose when I stood by the common grave of the 63 school children in Balakot who died in the earthquake. And I wonder if it ever will be answered.

A Chinese friend living in USA, Ms. Chen, told me that whatever disaster happened the Chinese government always mobilized the whole country very soon and send troops to the most dangerous places as soon as possible. Let u snot forget that China had a flood in 1998, the snowstorm this year and now this earthquake

From what views I got from some of the people I have known from China, I feel proud of the Chinese army and the Government and I wish my country had rulers who could unite the whole population.

I don’t have words to express the pain I have for the victims, and I know I’m of no good like millions and billions of people but may be just by donating and talking to the Chinese people around us,  may lift their moods and help us play the most minor role.Donations can be made on Jet Li One Foundationset up by the movie star Li Lien Jie after the Asian Tsunami in which he was nearly killed. The One Foundation works with the Chinese Red Cross Society and has wide support and is raising significant amounts for the relief effort.

Let us not forget, China being a friend and a neighbour to us, we owe respect to them. China has rendered help in some of our country’s worst times. May Allah save us from all sort of disastors. Amen.

PostHeaderIcon World food crisis- Alarming!

As we hear the news of the shortage in production of food stuff around the world, soaring prices and fear of drought, this news makes one sadder than ever.

We are in the 21st century claiming to faciliate the lives with all sort of luxiries but shortage of food??? What will happen next? Will the world face drought? and will people die of hunger???

It’s alarming!

PostHeaderIcon How many more will you kill?

It’s sad to see how the Muslim world is under feet of the US.

Bosnia, Israel, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine….Muslims have been/ are suffering and theres nothing, no organization claiming to hold peace in these regions of the world. I got accross to this site which reports 1.2 million Iraqis lost the lives since USA invasion.

I wonder how many more will they kill….

PostHeaderIcon Another clown …Pakistan’s new PM

Finally there’s a new clown in the circus!

I wonder what will be the future of this country…Many came, many ruled, many robbed and many went…

The new PM must secretly be reciting:

Mein pal do pal ka PM hoon

Pal do pal meri kahani hay

Pal dopal meri hukamrani hay

Mujh sey pehlay kitney PM aye or aa ker chalay gaye

Kuch ahein bhar ker lot gaye

Kuch jaibain bhar ker chalay gaye

Who bhi siyasat ka hissa thay

Mein bhi siyasat ka hissa hoon

kal is sey juda ho jaon ga

Go aaj is ka hisa hoon

Kal or ayengay watan ka pesa khanay walay

Mujh sey ziyada khanay walay

tum sey ziada lootnay walay…..

Mein pal do pal ka PM hoon

Pal do pal meri kahan hay…

Although it’s too early to say what will be the future of Pakistan in next 5 years, I just wish that we get rid of our basic problems and may we get a decent reputation zmong other nations. Amen!

PostHeaderIcon Dubai, here I come….

Few days back I was informed that I will be going to Dubai with my husband where he has a training session to attend and I will be on a shopping spree:-)

I love travelling and although travelling to Dubai is not at all new but yes, thinking about the malls and drooling seems like I have never been to a foreign land :-P

I’m already imagining Shawerma, Hummus and all the off-season fruits:-P This time I plan to do a seriuous research on life in Dubai and although I will be taking my laptop with me, Im not sure if I will be blogging.

Four fun filed days coming just after my cousin’s shadi ended:-) I love life;)
